Temitope Okupe, fondly known as Yayi, Champions Inclusion and Driving Positive Change.
A dynamic leader, project manager, disability advocate,
and seasoned human resources practitioner with over a decade of experience in both the private and non-profit sectors.
Hailing from Ijebu, Ogun State, Nigeria, Temitope's passion lies in empowering individuals with disabilities
and creating a more inclusive society.
His driving force is encapsulated in his powerful quote:
"People living with disabilities do not need pity, they need a system that works."
This philosophy fuels his work as the CEO of the Able Disabled Initiative Foundation,
where he tirelessly champions the rights and opportunities of people with disabilities.
Temitope is a transformational leader with a proven ability to build strong teams, manage complex projects,
and develop strategic opportunities that advance organizational goals.
His expertise spans project planning, impactful presentations, and fostering collaborative relationships
at all levels of an organization.
He possesses a deep understanding of HR practices, including recruitment and onboarding,
employee retention, WSIB, staff development, and policy implementation.
His analytical thinking and exceptional time management skills enable him to juggle multiple tasks
while consistently achieving optimal results.
His commitment to service and leadership has earned him prestigious recognition,
including being a 2016 Young Africa Leadership Initiative (YALI) fellow, an honor bestowed by President Barack Obama,
and a 2015 Guinness Made of Black Hero, awarded by Guinness Nigeria PLC.
Temitope's educational background reflects his dedication to both human resources and public service.
He holds an MA in Human Resources Management from both Lord Ashcroft International Business School (2012-2014)
and Anglia Ruskin University (2012-2014).
He also studied Public Policy and Civic Leadership at the University of California, Berkeley (2016),
further solidifying his commitment to positive social change.
His academic credentials are complemented by his CIPD certification, demonstrating his professional expertise in human resources.
He completed his secondary education at African Church Model College (1996-2002).
His diverse work experience showcases his adaptability and dedication to serving others.
From administrative roles at the Nigeria Airspace Management Agency and Okupe Adedamola & Co.,
to tutoring at Modupe Cole Memorial Children and Treatment Home and
coordinating programs at Community Development Link Initiative, Ipaja, Lagos, Nigeria,
Temitope has consistently contributed to his community.
He has also served as a Social Media Coordinator at HACEY’s Health Initiative
and a Country Coordinator at DFIN Ipaja Community Link.
Currently, he is a Human Resource Associate at the Durham Catholic District School Board in Ontario, Canada,
and a dedicated volunteer at The Jake House in Canada.
Temitope's impactful projects, such as the ongoing Adaptive Technology Training
for Special Needs Children (2017-Present), demonstrate his commitment to practical solutions and empowerment.
His skills encompass a wide range, including event planning and workplace investigations, further highlighting
